ROGERS PARK - Loyola University Chicago announced last month that it will construct a new state of the art building which will not house the incoming freshman class. This building, which is expected to be completed by mid-2019, will have exactly zero square feet of residential space.

In an announcement to the Loyola community, Vice President for Campus Affairs Steven Wahuni revealed architect renderings, blueprints, and funding for the new facility. It was also announced that the new building will be LEED Silver certified, to comply with the University’s rigorous sustainability standards. In addition to meeting energy efficiency standards, the building will do nothing to address the lack of housing for Loyola’s incoming (and largest ever) freshman class.

When asked by THE GULL if they will construct additional housing for larger classes, Loyola Residence Life said “lol shut up.”
